Renovations & Rubbish Removal

Renovations are a big customer of ours whether its DIY’ers or professional builders. We recently delivered a skip bin that will probably be filled twice to a property in Belmont.

This was a house build in the 1950s and is being completely guttered. This includes old weatherboard sheets that have rotted, bathroom tiles, plaster board and old bits of skirting that can’t be reused. Often we also cart away “new” rubbish that includes plastic sheeting from brick pallets and packaging from building supplies.

We knew in advance that they may need the skip bin for longer as this renovation job was a slow work in progress.

If you are thinking of renovating here are a few guides to help you.

5 Tips For Clearing Out Rubbish

Clearing Rubbish From Your home

After years of carting rubbish here are my favourite tips on cleaning the rubbish out your home

1. Wear Gloves

Rubbish can be dirty, slippery and sharp and its easy to get cuts and nicks on your hands that take days to heal. If your hands aren’t weather – it hurts!! You dont want heavier items slipping from your grip so gloves are a must have when load rubbish into your skip bin hire. For some reason it does feel like your stronger and more balanced using gloves which sounds a bit weird but its true.

2. Break Everything Down

If you have access to a reciprocating saw or similar you can cut wooden items such as furniture or branches and fit a lot more in the skip bin. Where possible break everything down especially old plants and odd shaped junk.

3. Mattresses

Dismantle this your self separating the springs from the wooden frame then saw the frame up to fit more in the skip bin. Mattresses cost you more if you put one in the skip bin. The mattress fee is charged by the council as part of their recycling initiative.

4. Going Halves

You could go halves with a neighbour and get a slightly larger skip bin whereby you both save.

5. Can’t Do The Work?

If you can’t fill your skip bin yourself due to illness or injury then consider hiring someone from airtasker.com.au to give you a hand. It won’t cost you much and there are some awesome people close to you willing to help.

Clearing rubbish and rumble from your dwelling is a great feeling. It tidies up the place and frees you from concerning your self with it. Who wants a constant reminder they have rubbish piling up? If you are unsure of bin sizes give me a quick call and I’ll run through them with you. Paul Ph: 0409 861 039
