Myer Geelong are going through in store renovations and required a large skip bin to be delivered into one of their major delivery docks. We delivered the bin successfully dodging all the delivery trucks backing in and out.

Many times we deliver to the Drysdale Recover Centre (off Murradoc Road) as they recycle much of the waste we delivery. They have different fees for different types of waste from rubble through to animal, car tyres and green waste. (they are open between 8am and 4pm). They even deal with small amounts of asbestos but we don’t!

Large skip bins, 12 cubic metres were delivered to two addresses in the little known suburb of Hamlyn Heights.

One of the addresses was a complete internal renovation whilst the other skip bin was to be used in a clean up. Both these skip bins were our 12 cubic metre bins and we are one of only a few skip bin companies in Geelong and the greater Geelong area that has this size. We are weight restricted to a certain degree and applies to heavy carpet and cement as an example. The worse thing that can happen is if you fill the skip bin with restricted content and it needs to be reloaded to lighten the load. At Totally Wasted we can hire bins over a long period this can be convenient if you need rubbish removed on a regular basis.

We have a large 12 cubic metre skip bin installed next to the St John Of God hospital for all of their hard waste. The skip bin is booked semi-permanently and suits the hospital as they don’t have a lot of space. It’s so much easier for them to put old office chairs and other hard waste items straight into the bin rather than stacking them in a corner and then booking a bin.

St John Of God hospital is in the Geelong CBD so there is limited room for just about anything. We sporadically pick up the bin and its contents at their request so its very convenient for them.

5 Interesting Facts About Rubbish Removal

• Be very aware that carpet and cement weigh a ton and will limit what you can put in one of our bins. We do have weight restrictions with our trucks so talk to Paul if you have heavy waste.
• When your skip bin is full call us straight away and we’ll remove it as soon as we can.
• We empty the rubbish in a huge landfill area with the guys there recycling mostly metals and plastic. The tip has got about 5 years life left so we are waiting to find out where we can dispose of the skip bin rubbish in the future.
• For smaller amounts of rubbish you can go to one of the domestic rubbish bin collections with a car or trailer full of rubbish. Be sure to separate out cardboard and polystyrene as they are deposited in separate sections compared to just general rubbish. Check out the one at North Geelong.
• We don’t normally deal with food waste or paints or oils. Food waste can go in your garden bin and paints or oils need to be dropped off at collection points around Geelong.

Hotel Renovations And Needs a 20 cubic Large Skip Bin

The Quality Inn Bayside Geelong,  home of the Black Salt Restaurant, borders the little know suburb of Drumconda. It’s a short drive from the Geelong CBD along the Esplanade over looking Corio Bay and has magnificent views of Port Phillip Bay.

The Quality Inn was looking to renovate a few of their rooms and needed a 20 cubic metre skip bin to clear the building rubbish and rubble. The bin was simple to deliver and set up so rubbish from the first storey could be tossed into the bin easily.

A 6 cubic metre skip bin was recently delivered to help with a kitchen renovation in Highton, a suburb of Geelong. We also delivered an 8 cubic metre skip bin to another part of Highton for a home that was having extensions added. Most of the skip bins we deliver are for removing building rubbish and rumble.

Both clients did not have to pay council fees as the both the bins were were unloaded in to driveways.

Drysdale is a rural country town that is about 20 minutes away from Geelong on the Bellarine Peninsula and is a huge growth area. Coles Supermarket  is soon to open at 28 Murradoc Road and they needed two bins every two days to cart building rubbish to the Drysdale dump. The Drysdale rubbish dump is open between 8.00am – 4.15pm at Becks Road (off Murradoc Road in Drysdale). Most of the building rubbish goes into landfill with a small portion used for recycling.

The bin size they required are 12 cubic metres and the cleanup will have taken about 2 months. On a busy site like this safety is extremely important and we have cameras surrounding our bin delivery trucks so we can see all the activity as we deliver. We also have flashing lights and warning lights so the builders and tradesmen can see our trucks in operation.

A Torquay building site was the delivery location of one of our large 8 cubic metre skip bins and has been there for the past 6 months. The building site is home to 3 townhouses under construction and the large skip bin gets emptied every two weeks on average.

As the building progresses the rubbish changes from roofing and timber frame work to plaster, cement and bricks. Once tiling and other finishing commences the rubbish then becomes more card board, skirting and insulation waste.

The builders are a construction company called Civilex – a regular client and great people to deal with.
